Buddha on a Lotus Throne

These exquisite Buddha figures, imported from Japan, are beautifully hand-carved from light cypress wood. Shakyamuni Buddha sits on a lotus throne atop a two-tiered hexagonal base adorned with intricate flower designs in relief. Tiny finials crown each of the six columns. A removable kotai, in the shape of a lotus leaf, provides the backdrop, accentuating the figure's soft contours and its delicate yet very expressive features. Finished with a light coat of teak oil.
